PinkMonkey is a study guide service that is generally marketed as free. However, recently they have pulled a lot of their book notes from their free site and placed them in their study guide store, MonkeyNotes. Because of decreased advertising revenue, this switch was crucial. Overall, PinkMonkey is an adequate study guide service.
PinkMonkey’s support and customer service are above average, compared to industry standards. Beyond email and FAQ options, PinkMonkey also features user forums. Additionally, PinkMonkey has a “Parents Tips” section to help parents help their students.
The actual notes are easy to read and understand, once you find the study guide you are looking for—as the general layout of PinkMonkey is not user–friendly. A seafoam and mint background combined with the tiny pink and black text makes it hard to scan the page for a specific study guide.
Besides the slight difficulty in navigation, the only other problem we found deals with the ads. The ads are flashy, colorful and fairly distracting. If you have a hard time focusing on your school work because you are easily distracted, PinkMonkey may not be the best site for you to visit.
