eNotes is a highly useful service for anyone looking for specific and focused study materials. This service is the recipient of our “TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award” for having top quality content throughout its huge database of summaries, notes and study guides.
eNotes requires what many study guide sites term a pass. Without the pass, you only have access to excerpts. eNotes generally gives you three options. You may download a single PDF file for $3.95 or sign-up for one of their Complete Passes. Complete Passes are monthly subscriptions that give you access to all facets of eNotes. The monthly pass is $14.95 mo. (recurring) and the annual pass is a one-time charge of $49.95.However, these prices do not include lesson plans.
The topics covered by eNotes are numerous. Beyond study guides, eNotes also offers lesson plans and access to journal articles. While reviewing eNotes, we entered the phrase European History into the search window. The results amounted to 15,700 pages displayed in blocks of 10. The pages returned spanned in specificity from “Curriculum – 18th Century European History” to “A European Consortium Plans the Airbus.”
The content on eNotes is high quality, clear and accurate.
eNotes is designed well. The enormous database is divided into particular subjects to help refine your search. However, the large number of event–specific articles makes it hard to find just the right material in a short period of time. But once you have found what you are looking for, the navigation within the text and topic is terrific.
eNotes provides the basic forms of support: e–mail and an FAQ page. They also provide a physical address, which is different from many other study guide services.
eNotes is a great site for researching topics. The journals, encyclopedia articles, lesson plans and study guides make eNotes a unique service. The amount of information available is practically unlimited, but for that very reason, we found it a little less than busy–student friendly. eNotes provides a superb service—and you just select the terms that are best for you.
