BookRags Review

BookRags is a great study guide resource for anyone who is looking for a large amount of information and has a lot of time to process it all. That is both the blessing and curse that comes from subscribing to BookRags: an overwhelming amount of information and no shortcuts through the jungle of data.

However, it is rather comprehensive, and if someone does have a lot of time but needs research for their subject then BookRags is an excellent place to get started.

Topics Covered

BookRags has a very impressive amount of information for its students. Finding information for the topic that you're studying isn't the hard part, it's narrowing down your search that becomes the mental exercise with this website. Perhaps when they install a more intuitive search engine this site will move through the ranks of online study guides.

Quality of Content

The quality of the information is adequate for any student's needs. The only problem is the redundancy of all the information. Often times a student will feel like they are going in circles as they read the same information regifted again and again through a different author's pen.

Ease of Use/Navigation

BookRags falls really short here. To use an analogy: if Cramster.com is the professional's office where everything is filed neatly away for easy access, BookRags is the cluttered college dorm room that has papers and information scattered all over the bed and the desk. While the information is there, you may have to sift through some old pizza boxes to find it.

Standard FAQ and email support is available from the BookRags team.

Overall, BookRags has potential to be a heavy hitter in the study guide arena, with copious amounts of information at their disposal they already have a solid base. However, the fact that they flood you with information and then throw you a pair of floaties and tell you to swim through all of the data makes them less effective and detracts from the usability of their website.

However, at $7.99 a month subscription, it is a very cost-effective product and well worth looking into, if you have plenty of time to do your research.
