BookRags is a study guide service that has an excellent list of topics and categories. Much of BookRags’ information comes from outside sources, but is not limited to the work of others. Like eNotes, our Bronze Award winner, BookRags has a huge database filled with articles, essays and analyses.

BookRags covers a large variety of topics, both generally and specifically. The quality of the study materials is pretty good. However, you only have access to excerpts without purchasing a particular pass. Also, like eNotes, you may buy a pass for a specific subject, literary work or to the entire site.

The amount of information available is both good and bad. If you want access to a lot of information, BookRags has it. But if you want to get good information in a hurry, BookRags may not be the place for you to find it. Your search will return too many results to synthesize in a short period of time. For example, the Complete Study Pack for William Golding's Lord of the Flies contains 1,194 pages comprised of 358,082 words. The original book is only 208 pages.

The layout is fairly easy to navigate. BookRags offers an editing service. If you are looking for online editing services, there are considerably less expensive options. Also, BookRags offers eBooks for their premium members.
